The Work

Since 1920, Beaver has given students the power to excel in any circumstance. Beaver challenges students to go beyond mastery of content and conventional problem-solving; rather we prepare students for an undefined era where the New Basics are the cornerstones of professional success and personal development.

Learning by doing is at the heart of what we do. We create an environment where deeper learning through student-led inquiry and exploration are promoted and where the classroom is everywhere.

The BVR Approach

Our students meaningfully internalize and interpret subject matter, developing the critical skills necessary to both understand and apply their knowledge.

Emerging Tech

We teach technological literacy not as a standalone class, or through specific hardware or software, but as a tool embedded into each class.  It is infused into every part of our curriculum and campus.

Academics, Courses, & College

Middle School Academics

In the Middle School, students pursue their interests and are pushed to try new things. They are challenged, which means that in addition to taking tests, writing papers, and preparing for class, our students also apply their learning to explore concepts further, growing as students and individuals.

Upper School Academics

In the Upper School, students tackle the basics AND also launch into so much more:  they listen, build, revise, ask questions, partner, write, debate, and engage thoughtfully with their work, tapping into their curiosity to connect their learning to the world around them.

College Counseling

The Beaver curriculum is college preparatory, and all graduates go on to attend four-year colleges. At Beaver, college counseling is all about “the match.” Our highly experienced counselors keep students focused on identifying colleges that will challenge them, feed their intellectual passions, and prepare them to meet their future goals.
